Bausch & Lomb ReNu MultiPlus Contact Lens Solution: Bausch and Lomb Inc is the largest U.S. companies for Eye Care. More than 1.5 million bottles of ReNu Multi Plus lens cleaner recalled from market because of iron in solution. This follows a worldwide recall of Renu Moisture solution in 2006. The high traces of iron can cause the renu solution to lose its effectiveness over a year before expiration date. This could lead increased infections of the eye and other eye problems, because the lenses will not be properly disinfected before use. Increased iron can also cause discolored lens.
There were no reports of damage from iron. Representatives from the Bausch & Lomb said he believes it has been used in practice for most of affected solution in Greenville, SC, at its plant last year from the lens.
Approximately one million bottles of solutions bausch lomb were distributed in the United States and another in Canada 500,000, Korea, Taiwan and Latin America. Bausch & Lomb has notified by Food and Drug Administration and regulators in other countries.
The recalled batches of Bausch & Lomb ReNu Multi Plus contact lens solution, all have the date of '2008-03 'on the bottle.
